This stunning home we built in Cambridge creates both warmth and a sense of indulgence. Cladded in Lunawood, a sustainable timber from a renewable Nordic forest, and produced by natural methods, the warmth of the wood has been seamlessly continued inside with a stunning entrance feature wall.

Our client wanted to build a low-maintenance and long-lasting home, so we used high-performing materials such as Knauf Earthwool insulation, which is renowned for its excellent energy-saving properties. Thermally broken windows with low-E (Emissivity) glass were also used to increase the performance of the home.  The inset window at the front of the house, not only is an impressive feature but is cleverly designed to shade the living space in summer while bringing in the sun in winter. Heating and cooling the home is done with ease through the use of ducted heating throughout. The StoArmour plaster cladding system is not only aesthetically attractive and durable, but the innovative aerated panel produces thermal qualities that support New Zealand energy-efficiency standards, providing exterior insulation against temperature fluctuations.  It also has a lower carbon footprint than many other manufactured masonry products.

Internally, we used a mixture of warm wood tones, mixed with soft grey textiles, giving the space a modern but minimalist look. The kitchen features a skylight that brings in plenty of natural light that bounces off the natural timbers throughout the space. A variety of open shelving and cupboards, along with three separate benchtops, gives the owners plenty of space to work with.

The living space is generous and welcoming. The cleverly designed media cupboard stores away all necessary cables, making the living space decluttered and minimal. The style of the living areas has been continued through into the bathroom, with light grey fully tiled showers and brushed nickel finishes. The separate laundry is an added bonus for this home, boasting custom joinery that reflects the style of the kitchen. There is also a generous walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom with stunning custom joinery.
